Plug-and-Go Terminals: Making POS Work for You
Easy installation, fast and trouble-free processing. Your business
depends on your ability to process multiple kinds of transactionsdebit
and credit cards and checksquickly and efficiently at the
Point of Sale. Customers demand it, and your competition is already
providing it.
"The Point of Sale is the bridge between a business and its
customer," explained Lisa Lubrano, Product Manager for Chase
Merchant Services, LLC. "That's where a business makes or breaks
customer service, and it's where most service holes occur."
In the face of 30 percent growth in U.S. debit card use between
March 2000 and March 2001, businesses are compelled to keep the
customer payment process efficient and error-free.
Slow transactions, lack of payment options and under-trained staff
can lead to errors and delays, leaving customers dissatisfied and
unlikely to return. Faster, more efficient POs processing can build
return business.
Chase Merchant Services now makes available two new terminalsthe
Verifone Omni 3200 and the Hypercom ICE 5700which can save
time, money and space as they help you build business. Both solutions
are lightweight and flexible with a demo mode that lets you train
employees without impacting live transactions in the terminal.
"The hands-on training module has made both of these terminals
very popular," Lubrano said, "It's an option that allows
businesses to maximize training while minimizing the time spent
on it."
Both solutions offer retailers the convenience of check acceptance
guarantee service and support for AVS Retail, AVS Card Not Present,
CVV2 and account truncation transactions. The Verifone Omni 3200
also offers a tip option for salons as well as a clerk log-in option.
With the ICE 5700 terminal and Hypercom ICE-PACTM software, you
can display promotions and advertising messages on the touchscreen
as well as print logos and messages on customer receipts.
No Second Phone Line Required
The menu-driven Verifone Omni 3200 features a triple-track card
reader that supports all magnetic-striped cards, including new drivers'
licenses. Weighing in at just over two pounds, it requires a single
electrical outlet and has two telephone ports, so you don't need
a second phone line. With features to support purchasing and commercial
card processing, tip processing, and address verification on mail
order transactions, the Omni 3200 is the ideal solution for retail
businesses. The restaurant package includes IRS TRAC tip reporting,
server detail reports, shift reports, open/close bar tab and more.
Integrated PIN Keypad
With a keypad that supports PIN entry, the Hypercom ICE 5700 is
a true all-in-one solution that saves counter space and reduces
clutter. The retail application supports purchase/commercial cards,
address verification, debit cards, Electronic Benefits Transfer
(EBT) and auto close. For restaurants, the Hypercom ICE 5700 supports
IRS TRAC tip reporting, gratuity guidelines, bar tabs, server reporting
and more.
"A convenient, flexible payment terminal and a well-trained
staff to operate it are the keys to leveraging the point-of-sale
experience for return business," Lubrano emphasized. "These
two solutions make both possible."
